Health Insurance is a Keeper

By Jeff Cline

One thing that we should never scrimp on is health insurance. Many people are looking for ways to save money, but this is not one of them. Without health insurance you could end up in financial ruin. The financial stress could be more then you can handle.

There are ways to save on health insurance premiums however. You should evaluate your current plan. Does it match your needs or could you live with a more scaled down plan. Many people are opting for major medical only plans to save money.

Some people are finding that purchasing their own individual health insurance is saving them money versus staying on the employer offered group plan. Especially for dependents, since the employer often times is no longer paying their premium.

One way to save a lot on premium is to get a reduced or limited benefit plan like a catastrophic plan or saver plan. If you find that you do not visit the doctor often this is a wise choice and can save more then a $1000 a year in premium.

You should never go without health insurance, even if you will only be without health insurance for a short time. Instead you should purchase a short term health insurance plan. If I say it once I will say it again, something is better then nothing.

A temporary or short term plan just makes more sense then going uninsured. The unexpected does occur and usually when it is the worse time. A trip to the hospital can end up costing $10000 or more. Can you afford to pay all of that out of your pocket?

The popular PPO plan can be tailored to fit your need and your budget. That is what makes this kind of plan so popular for consumers. Yu can find a huge range of plans, some with limited benefits for savings and some with full benefits fit for a king.

When we struggle financially it is difficult. Going uninsured should never be an option to save money however. It could be the most costly mistake you could ever make. There are to many options available with carriers these days.
